Calculated Glomerular Filtration Rate (CGFR) is ordered by doctors to evaluate how well a person's kidneys are functioning and to detect kidney disease. CGFR is calculated based on the blood creatinine level, and other data such as age, race, gender, weight, and height of the person being tested.
