FANA

Fluorescent Antinuclear Antibody (FANA) is a test for unusual antibodies in the structures within the nucleus of the cell. Presence of FANA indicates the possible presence of autoimmune diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) or Polymyositis.

Symptoms of autoimmune disorders can include such things as fever, fatigue, joint pain, and unexplained rashes.

Fluorescent Antinuclear Antibody (FANA) can also be ordered for diagnosis of collagen-vascular diseases.
