Anastrozole

Anastrozole belongs to the group of cancer-fighting medicines. It is most commonly used to treat certain types of breast cancer in women who are past menopause.


Anastrozole works by lowering levels of estrogen which may slow down the growth of certain types of breast tumors that need estrogen to grow in the body.


Some of the possible side effects of using anastozole are hot flashes, arthritis, pain, hypertension, depression, nausea and vomiting, rash, back pain, insomnia, and headache. Anastozole is not recommended for women who have not yet started menopause.
