Citalopram

Citalopram is an antidepressant used to treat depression.  Citalopram increases the amount of a naturally occurring chemical called serotonin (a neurotransmitter) in certain areas of the brain, which in turn improves the ability of the brain to transmit messages from one nerve cell to another.

Drinking alcohol should be avoided when taking this medication because it can increase some of the side effects of Citalopram.
