HydrochlorothiazideHydrochlorothiazide is a medication used to decrease fluid retention caused by congestive heart failure or certain kidney or liver disorders. Hydrochlorothiazide is most commonly used to control high blood pressure or Hypertension. Some patients refer to this medication as a "water pill." Hydrochlorothiazide works by making the body lose water and salt from the kidneys. Some of the possible side effects of Hydrochlorothiazide include decreased sexual ability, diarrhea, dizziness or lightheadedness, increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight (skin rash, itching, redness, other discoloration of skin, or severe sunburn after exposure to sunlight) and loss of appetite. Some of these side effects can be temporary. | |
