Wellbutrin is a medication used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder.  It can also be used to help with tobacco cessation (quitting smoking).

Wellbutrin should be taken as prescribed by your doctor.  This medication should not be taken with alcohol or in patients with Bulimia or with a history of seizures as it can increase the chances of seizures.

Some patients may have new onset or increased amounts of suicidal thoughts during the initial few weeks of using Wellbutrin. You should discuss these thoughts with your doctor immidately if they present.
